'15-Second' Robbery Caught On CCTV: Masked Men Loot Jewellery Worth Rs 18 Lakh At Gun Point

Three masked men robbed Ram Jewellers in Bengaluru, and escaped with approximately Rs 18 lakh worth of gold. An investigation is underway and police are analysing the CCTV footage of the shop.

Three armed masked men stormed a jewellery shop in the outskirts of Bengaluru and escaped with gold jewellery valued at approximately Rs 18 lakh, all within 15 seconds. The entire loot was captured on the CCTV footage at the premises. The video surfaced online and has gone viral on social media.

The dramatic incident took place at Ram Jewellers, located in the Bhairaveshwara complex on Magadi Road in Bengaluru's Madanayakanahalli at around 8:30 PM on Friday, July 25.

The CCTV footage shows masked intruders entering the store just before closing hours. They barged in brandishing their firearms and threatened the store owner, Kanhaiya Lal, and his staff.

They then swiftly collected gold ornaments displayed on the counter and fled the scene. One of the accused climbed atop the table and even robbed the jewellery displayed on the wall cases.

"At around 8.30 pm, three perpetrators entered our shop, showed a gun, and within 30 seconds, they took whatever was on display and on the table, then fled. Around 180 to 185 grams of gold was stolen," shop owner Kanhaiya Lal told India Today.

Despite resistance from the shop owner and a quick response from neighboring merchants alerted by the commotion, the robbers managed to successfully escapethe spot.

"On the 24th night, an armed robbery case was reported in Madanayakanahalli Police Station, where 3 people barged into the jewellery shop around 10 pm. Within 15-16 seconds, they pushed aside people in the shop and took away 184 grams of jewellery...A case has been registered. 4 special teams have been formed to nab the accused. We have clues, and we are working on it. Shortly, we will come back positively in this case," Bengaluru SP CK Baba told news agency ANI.

A formal complaint has been registered at the Madanayakanahalli police station. Investigators are analysing the CCTV footage and questioning potential suspects. Authorities indicated that the weapon brandished during the incident may have been a toy gun. However, a probe is underway to verify this and nab the accused robbers.

No injuries were reported during the robbery.
