Maharashtra: Man Accidentally Hangs Himself While Shooting Reel, Rushed To Hospital

The man was reportedly filming a reel of him pretending to be hanging, but lost consciousness after the rope got stuck around his neck. He is said to be in a critical condition.

A man was rushed to hospital after he accidentally hanged himself while filming a reel in Maharashtra's Ahmednagar. He is currently admitted to the hospital for treatment, but his condition remains critical.

The incident took place in Jamkhed city in Amednagar district, when the young man was reportedly filming a reel of him pretending to be hanging. However, the rope got stuck around his neck and he lost consciousness after accidentally hanging himself, ABP Majha reported.

After receiving information about the incident, social activist Sanjay Kothari immediately rushed the man to a hospital. The man has been identifed as Prakash Buda, a resident of Nepal. He is currently working in a hotel in Jamkhed.

Following the incident, the social activist has appealed to people to not risk their lives just to become famous on social media.

Travel Influencer Falls Into Gorge While Filming Reel In Raigad

In another similar incident, a Mumbai-based travel influencer lost her life while filming an Instagram reel in Maharashtra's Raigad district last year. The 27-year-old influencer, Aanvi Kamdar, was shooting a reel at the Kumbhe waterfall, when she slipped and fell into a gorge.

According to Mangaon police, Kamdar was on a trip with seven friends in July 2024, when she slipped and fell into a 300-foot gorge while capturing a video. Although her friends immediately alerted the local authorities, who launched a swift rescue operation, the woman could not be saved.

“As soon as we reached the spot, we realised that the girl had fallen nearly 300-350 feet. Even after reaching her, it was difficult to get her up, as she was injured and it was raining heavily. So we decided to get her out using a vertical pulley,” a rescuer told NDTV.

The rescue operation was carried out by the Coast Guard, Kolad rescue team, and Maharashtra State Electricity Board staff. Despite the complications due to falling stones and the weather, the authorities managed to rescue Kamdar after six hours. She was rushed to a hospital, but succumbed to her injuries.
