Maharashtra: 13 Bangladeshis Arrested For Illegally Residing In Mumbai's Nalasopara
Mumbai police arrested 13 Bangladeshi illegal immigrants, following a string of similar arrests in Delhi. These incidents highlight the ongoing issue of Bangladeshi infiltration into India.
The infiltration of Bangladeshi citizens into India does not seem to be decreasing. In a major operation against illegal migrants, Mumbai police, on late evening of January 4, have arrested as many as 13 Bangladeshis living illegally in the Nalasopara area.
As per the details, initially one Bangladeshi was arrested. However, while investigating him, as many as 13 Bangladeshis were found living illegally. The police have arrested them for illegally entering and residing in India.
Mumbai police said that the arrests were made during a special operation in the Ghatkopar suburb as part of a broader crackdown on unauthorised migrants. The officials said that the individuals were found to have entered and stayed in India without proper documentation.
On January 2 also, three Bangladeshi women staying illegally in Thane city of Maharashtra were arrested. The Delhi Police have also deported eight Bangladeshi nationals who were residing in the Rangpuri area of the national capital on December 29.
As reported earlier, a person from Bangladesh had also found to be obtained a fake Aadhaar card in Bhiwandi by paying Rs 500. Later, claiming to be a citizen of Inida, he settled down in Pune. As per the information, in July, he had come from Myanmar to Bangladesh along with four Rohingyas and then from Bangladesh to Gandhinagar in the Dehu Road area of Pune. When the Anti-Terrorism Squad of Pimpri Chinchwad Police received information, police took action against the four.
However, one of them, Muzallim Khan, bought a place in Pune for Rs 80,000 and built a house on that place and settled down. Later, the police took action against him also.
A few days ago, the West Bengal Police arrested the mastermind of the fake passport gang, Manoj Gupta. He was found to be running a passport fraud business under, the guise of a tour-travel business for more than 10 years. As per the information, till now, he had made fake Indian passports for about 100 Bangladeshi citizens and sent them abroad. The accused used to take Rs 5 to 10 thousand from Bangladeshis and first made their Aadhaar and PAN cards. After that, their names were included in the voter list. Later, the accused used to apply for passports of Bangladeshis using fake addresses.
