AAP Worker, Girlfriend, 4 Contract Killers Arrested For Wife’s Murder In Ludhiana

Ludhiana Police Commissioner Kuldeep Singh Chahal confirmed that Anokh Mittal and Pratiksha had plotted to kill Lipsy after she uncovered their affair.

An AAP worker was arrested on Monday along with his girlfriend, and four contract killers by Ludhiana Police in connection with the murder of his wife. The 33-year-old deceased was identified as Manvi Mittal, also named 'Lipsy'.

According to a report by Times of India, police confirmed that the murder of Manvi was the outcome of after she found her husband Anokh Mittal's extramarital affair, resulting a conflicts between the couple. Police noted that Anokh and his girlfriend, Pratiksha, reportedly plotted the conspiracy of Manvi's murder.

After the investigation police revealed that Anokh and Pratiksha deployed five men identified as Amritpal Singh, Gurdeep Singh, Sonu Singh, Sagardeep Singh, and Gurpreet Singh Gopi — with a payment of Rs 2.5 lakh to execute the murder. However, all the culprits were arrested by the police except Gurpreet Singh, who is on the run.

Police Confirmed Anokh Mittal, His Girlfriend's Role In Manvi's Murder

Previously, Anokh claimed that while driving home after dinner on the Ludhiana-Malerkotla road, he along with his wife were attacked by five assailants.

He claimed that he had stopped the car near the Dehlon bypass to relieve himself when the assailants attacked him with a rod, drugged him, and assaulted his wife before escaping with their gold, cash, mobile phones, and vehicle. However, police found his account suspicious.  

Ludhiana Police Commissioner Kuldeep Singh Chahal later confirmed that Anokh Mittal and Pratiksha had plotted to kill Lipsy after she uncovered their affair.  

Chahal further stated that Anokh and Pratiksha had hired contract killers for the murder, and investigations revealed that Anokh had previously attempted to kill his wife twice but had failed.

Separately, on Monday, a 34-year-old man from Mumbai killed his three-month-old daughter after he forcefully threw her on the floor at their residence in Kurla. He was later arrested by the police.

According to police, the man got furious after his wife allegedly slapped their eldest daughter for refusing to eat. He allegedly picked up their infant daughter from his wife's lap and threw her on the floor, The Indian Express reported.
