LSR College, Multiple Schools In South Delhi Receive Bomb Threat Mails, Nothing Suspicious Found
After the threats were received, police teams along with a bomb disposal and dog squad rushed to the spots, but nothing suspicious was found.
Multiple schools and a college in Delhi received bomb threat emails on Wednesday morning. These threats were issued to educational institutes including the Lady Shree Ram College in Lajpat Nagar and Tagore International School in East of Kailash.
After the threats were received, police teams along with a bomb disposal and dog squad rushed to the spots, but nothing suspicious was found.
"We received two different bomb threat calls from Lady Shree Ram College (sic) at 11.40 am. Another bomb threat call was received from Tagore International School in East of Kailash area at 11.17 am," a Delhi Fire Service official told news agency PTI.
According to a report by the Times Of India, threats were sent to over ten schools in the national capital. The email said the bomb would detonate when it would cause the maximum impact. The bob threats came at a time when examination was going on in most of the schools.
The year 2024 saw hundreds of schools and colleges receive such bomb threats, which used to later turn out to be hoax.
What The Email Said
The schools where the threat e-mail was sent also included Amity School in Saket, DPS Vasant Vihar, Salwan Public School, and Modern School in Vasant Vihar, among others.
The email said that "massive and highly dangerous explosives" were planted on the premises of the school and warned that the act was done by a "powerful and dangerous dark web group" with connections to "Red Rooms", the report said.
"Your lack of strict bag checks for students entering the school has provided us with the perfect opportunity to carry out our plan. We know examinations are being conducted in some of the schools mentioned here. This works entirely to our advantage, as large crowds will gather on the field for a brief period before moving into the examination halls. During this time, everyone apart from the students writing the exam - will either be standing outside on the field or wandering around the building," the email, accessed by TOI, read.
The email further said that the bombs were "extremely powerful" and could "destroy entire buildings" and harm everyone within their blast radius.
"The invigilators in the exam halls will be caught off guard, utterly distracted, as the bombs are detonated at the precise moment we choose. We know the exact examination schedule, and we will use it to strike when it causes the maximum impact. This is your weakness, and we will exploit it fully. Reply immediately to know and fulfil our demands," the email added.
