Arvind Kejriwal has slammed the Union Home Ministry and Delhi Police for the frequent bomb threats to schools in Delhi. He blames Amit Shah for the deteriorating law and order situation in the city.
Former Delhi CM and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Friday indirectly slammed the Union Home Ministry and the Delhi Police for the regular bomb threats to schools in the national capital. He said: "Today another school has received a threat. The morale of the criminals and the people who threaten is high because to date no one who threatens has been caught."
Kejriwal's remark came after Delhi Public School in Dwarka, Sector 23, received a bomb threat on Friday morning. This was the fifth instance of threat to a Delhi school in two weeks. Kejriwal had also expressed concerns over the impact of such incidents on children's education.
A total of five schools in Delhi-NCR reportedly received bomb threats on Friday. Four schools in Delhi — Dwarka DPS, Vishal Bharti in Paschim Vihar, Krisna Model Public School in Jafarpur, and Ekta Model School in Najafgarh — and Lotus International School In Noida received the threat emails.
Previously, too, Kejriwal blamed Union Home Minister Amit Shah for the deteriorating law & order in the national capital. The Delhi Police functions under the Union Home Ministry. Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party have decided to take on the BJP over the issue of law and order in the national capital ahead of the Delhi Assembly Elections. The party plans to run a localised campaign on the safety and security of citizens in Delhi.
Previous Instances Of Bomb Threats At Delhi Schools
On December 9, around 40 schools in Delhi received bomb threats through email. Upon learning of the threats, school authorities promptly alerted parents and ensured that all students were sent home safely. Following a thorough investigation, police teams reported no suspicious findings.
Just days later, on December 13, bomb threats targeted six more schools, leading to the suspension of classes. A comprehensive search by law enforcement confirmed the threats were baseless hoaxes.
The pattern continued on December 14 when another wave of threats emerged, including one directed at Delhi Public School (DPS) in RK Puram. This particular incident was traced back to a prank by a student from the school. Police intervened, counselling the student, and advising the parents to monitor their child closely. Authorities emphasized that the student's actions were unrelated to the other recurring threats across Delhi.
Bomb threats have become a frequent occurrence in Delhi, with threats being issued not only to schools but also to hospitals, banks, airports, and other institutions. With Delhi's elections just months away, these threats are raising major security concerns.
