Months After Speaking Out Against RaGa, Congress Expels Digvijay Singh's Brother For 'Anti-Party Activities'
This followed repeated public criticisms of the party leadership, including remarks about Rahul Gandhi and Robert Vadra after the Pahalgam attack.

the Congress party has expelled veteran leader and former Madhya Pradesh MLA Laxman Singh for six years, citing "anti-party activities." The announcement came on Wednesday through an official statement by Tariq Anwar, Member Secretary of the party’s Disciplinary Action Committee.
Singh, a five-time Member of Parliament and three-time MLA, is the younger brother of senior Congress figure and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh.
"Congress President has expelled Laxman Singh, former MLA, Madhya Pradesh, from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress for a period of six years with immediate effect due to his anti-party activities," said the Congress in a statement.

Singh's Remark Against Rahul Gandhi
While the party refrained from detailing the exact reasons behind the move, it follows repeated instances of Singh making public statements critical of the Congress high command—remarks that reportedly embarrassed the party on multiple occasions. According to party insiders, the Madhya Pradesh Pradesh Congress Committee had earlier flagged Singh’s conduct, leading to the matter being forwarded to the AICC Disciplinary Committee.
Singh's political journey has been marked by significant shifts. After being elected as an MP for the first time in 1994 from Rajgarh, he defected to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2004, securing another term in the Lok Sabha.

He later returned to Congress in 2013, attempting to reclaim his space in the party.
The latest fallout stems from remarks Singh made last month, which were seen as publicly undermining the party’s central leadership. In the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack, Singh questioned the political maturity of Rahul Gandhi and Robert Vadra, saying, “The country is suffering the consequences of their immaturity.” These statements reportedly triggered internal outrage, leading to a show-cause notice being issued to him.
