Mayawati's BSP Accuses TN Congress Chief's Involvement In Party Leader K Armstrong's Murder
According to Jeysankar, Selvaperunthagai had a long-standing relationship with both Nagendran and his son Ashwathaman, who was appointed as principal general secretary of the Congress Youth Wing.
The General Secretary of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in Tamil Nadu, K Jeysankar, has made serious allegations against state Congress President Selvaperunthagai, accusing him of involvement in the murder of former BSP state president K Armstrong. In a letter addressed to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, Jeysankar claimed that Selvaperunthagai played a pivotal role in the crime and has since been obstructing the investigation.
Armstrong was brutally murdered in July by a gang of six near his residence in Perambur, Chennai. Following the incident, the Greater Chennai Police arrested over 16 individuals, including Ashwathaman, a former Congress member, and his father Nagendran, a life convict.
On Thursday, Jeysankar alleged that Selvaperunthagai was closely linked with Nagendran and should also be questioned in connection with the murder.
Jeysankar alleged that Selvaperunthagai had full knowledge of the crime and was using his political influence to delay the investigation, told to India Today TV. He pointed to growing social media demands for Selvaperunthagai to be interrogated, further fueling public speculation.
According to Jeysankar, Selvaperunthagai had a long-standing relationship with both Nagendran and his son Ashwathaman, who was appointed as principal general secretary of the Congress Youth Wing by Selvaperunthagai himself. He claimed that Ashwathaman, known for his criminal activities, worked under the influence of Selvaperunthagai and Nagendran, and was even involved in sharing ransom money with the Congress leader, as reported by DT Next.
Jeysankar went on to allege that Selvaperunthagai was also implicated in other murder cases, including the killings of Auditor Pandian, Albert, and PPG Shankar. He emphasised that Armstrong’s assassination was meticulously planned, pointing to Selvaperunthagai's history of criminal involvement.
He also said that he has been mulling on meeting Tamil Nadu CM Stalin along with BSP leaders including Armstrong's wife.
