Internet Suspended in Bihar's Jamui After Clashes, Stone Pelting Between Groups
Several people were reportedly injured in the clashes and stone pelting in Bihar's Jamui. Jamui Municipal Council VP Nitish Sahu has suffered serious injuries after being brutally asaulted.

The district administration of Bihar's Jamui on Monday suspended internet services in the entire district after clashes erupted between two groups, leading to stone pelting.
Tensions erupted in Jamui between two groups on Sunday (16 February) night in Baliadih, which comes under the jurisdiction of Jhajha police station area of Jamui. According to sources, bricks and stones were thrown during the clashes, resulting in Deputy Chief Councilor of Jamui Municipal Council and President of Jamui District Chamber of Commerce Nitish Kumar Sahu suffering serious injuries. Several other people were also reportedly injured.
Deputy Chief Councilor Nitish Kumar's car was attacked with bricks and stones by the miscreants, fracturing his head. He was taken to Jamui Sadar Hospital for treatment and referred to Patna after first aid.
Clash broke out during a program organised in Baliadih where one party attacked the other. Khushboo Pandey, widely known as 'Hindu Sherni' was also injured. She later said that she hid in the car for 20-25 minutes during the attack, sources told ABP.
Videos have surfaced online wherein Pandey can be heard claiming that the people from the other group wanted to burn her alive. She said that her car was surrounded and vandalised by the mob.
A report by Free Press Journal said that members of a community pelted stones after a group of people were returning after reciting Hanuman Chalisa at a temple in Baliadih village. As many as eight people have been arrested in connection with stone-pelting in the area.
Upon receiving information of the incident, SP Madan Kumar Anand reached the spot with his team along with District Magistrate Abhilasha Sharma. Both the SP and DM made on-the-spot assessment late at night on Sunday.
The entire Baliadih village was turned into a police camp to avoid any further escalation. As clashes broke out, dozens of houses were found locked, after which police discovered that the people of the other party had fled from their homes.
Jhajha SDPO Rajesh Kumar said the situation is normal at the moment and additional forces have also been called.
Meanwhile, Jamui SDO Abhay Kumar Tiwari said that there was tension, discord and light stone pelting between the two parties. "We are all present at the spot. The situation is normal. Action is being taken to register an FIR. Whoever is found guilty will be arrested and other legal action will be taken," he said.
