3 Terrorists Killed By Army Under Operation Mahadev In Kashmir

Chinar Corps of the Indian Army in a post on X said, "OP MAHADEV. Contact established in General Area Lidwas. Operation in progress."

Three terrorists were killed after the Indian Army on Monday launched anti-terror Operation Mahadev in the general area of Lidwas in Jammu and Kashmir to eliminate Pakistan-sponsored terrorists.

Earlier, Chinar Corps of the Indian Army in a post on X said, "OP MAHADEV. Contact established in General Area Lidwas. Operation in progress."

The security forces, acting on an intelligence input, launched an anti-militancy operation in the Mulnar area of Harwan, they said. Two rounds of gunshots were heard from a distance as security personnel were carrying out searches, officials said.

Reinforcements have been rushed to the site, and the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and paramilitary forces are jointly conducting the combing operations.

Crackdown On Terrorists In J&K

The intensified security crackdown follows the brutal terrorist attack on 22 April in Baisaran meadow, Pahalgam, where 26 civilians were killed by Pakistan-backed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operatives. The incident provoked nationwide outrage and prompted Prime Minister Narendra Modi to grant the armed forces a free hand to respond.

In retaliation, Indian forces carried out targeted strikes on terror infrastructure across the Line of Control, reportedly destroying nine terror bases inside Pakistan. Pakistan’s counter-response included strikes on civilian and military facilities, resulting in extensive damage to homes and religious places, including a temple, gurdwara, and church, in Jammu's Poonch district.

Subsequent escalation led to significant losses on both sides, with 18 Pakistani military installations reportedly damaged.

Operations in Harwan continue as part of the broader effort to dismantle terror networks and prevent further attacks.
