Missile wreckage was discovered in the hilly terrain of Kamahi Devi in Hoshiarpur, prompting an immediate response from local law enforcement. Meanwhile, in Bathinda, remnants of a defused missile were found near Beed Talab, with authorities making safety announcements via loudspeakers at a nearby Gurdwara Sahib, urging residents to remain indoors.

The chaos intensified on Thursday, when parts of a missile landed in Amritsar, igniting panic among locals who reported hearing loud explosions. These blasts were later confirmed to be the sound of India's air defence forces neutralising incoming threats from across the border.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Defence, the missiles and drones launched by Pakistan were intercepted and destroyed by India's Integrated Counter-UAS Grid and Air Defence systems, preventing any casualties or damage to critical infrastructure.
"The debris from these attacks is now being recovered from multiple locations," the ministry said. "This confirms an orchestrated attempt by Pakistan to target Indian cities," it added
The Indian military has heightened security measures across border regions in Punjab, Rajasthan, and Jammu and Kashmir following verified threats from Pakistan in the wake of Operation Sindoor. India's military strike targeted nine terror camps located within Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
On the same day, Pakistan launched a fresh wave of drones and missiles aimed at several Indian cities across the northern border. The Indian Army confirmed that every single threat was neutralised without any casualties being reported.
Meanwhile, New Delhi has made its stance clear: any aggression or threat will be met with a resolute and forceful response.
