Barmer On High Alert: Blackout, Market Shutdown And Movement Restrictions From Today Evening — Check Details

Barmer district enforces market closure, blackout, vehicle ban, and drone restrictions for public safety. Residents urged to cooperate, and share guidelines for national security.

The Barmer administration has issued guidelines for the residents of the city in the wake of recent attacks from Pakistan. The administration has decided to enforce a complete market closure from 5 PM today and a citywide blackout from 6 PM to 6 AM, with no vehicle movement allowed during the blackout period.

In light of the present circumstances, the Barmer district administration has issued the following guidelines to ensure public safety and security:

  • Market Closure: All markets in the district will remain completely closed from 5 PM today.
  • Complete Blackout: A full blackout will be enforced from 6 PM to 6 AM. During this period, all lights in homes and commercial establishments must remain switched off.
  • Vehicle Ban: No vehicles will be allowed to operate during this time. This restriction applies to two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers alike.
  • Restricted Zone: A strict no-entry zone has been established within a 5-kilometer radius of the defense area. Any unauthorized or suspicious person found in this area will face strict action.
  • Drone Prohibition: The operation of drones throughout the district is completely prohibited.
  • Ban on Firecrackers: The use of fireworks and firecrackers is strictly prohibited across the entire district.

The administration has urged all residents to strictly follow these guidelines, emphasizing that these measures are crucial for national security. Citizens are requested to remain vigilant, maintain peace, and cooperate fully to support these efforts.

The circular was shared by the official X handle of the Barmer Police with a caption that says, In light of the present circumstances, the Barmer district administration has issued the following guidelines to ensure public safety and security.”

This decision follows recent attempts by Pakistan to target multiple military sites in northern and western India, including Nal, Phalodi, and Uttarlai in Rajasthan, using drones and missiles, leading authorities to place these districts on high alert.

The district administration has appealed to the public to share this information further and help ensure the collective safety of the community.
