Independence Was A Collective Effort, Not Due To One Individual: RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat
RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat stated India's independence was a collective effort, not attributable to a single person, starting from 1857.

RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Saturday that there is always a debate about whose efforts the country attained independence, but the reality is that the independence didn't come about due to just one individual.

"Efforts for this started in 1857, and the fire ignited everywhere; after that, the fire never died down," Bhagwat said. He further added that the efforts continued and with everyone's collective efforts, the independence was attained.
He also said that the workers lead ordinary lives but often reach extraordinary heights through their actions, all while striving for the upliftment of society. Speaking at the launch of two' books—'Sangh-Jeevan Part 1 and 2'—in' Nagpur, where the RSS is headquartered, he noted volunteers of the Hindutva organisation, which will turn 100 in October this year, perform their duties effortlessly, without seeking recognition or accolades.
"RSS workers help everyone, live simple lives, but unintentionally reach extraordinary levels. They are aware that entire society should reach that level, he stated. They do good work with an ease; they do not have to take any extra special efforts. RSS workers keep doing so," Bhagwat emphasised as quoted by news agency PTI.
The RSS chief also spoke in detail about the role and philosophy of the RSS, stating that those who often discuss its strengths and weaknesses may not truly be familiar with it. He said that people who take the time to understand the organisation often find themselves impressed and say they have learned a lot from it.
He emphasized that the strength of the RSS comes from the sacrifices of its dedicated volunteers, which enables the organisation to take collective decisions.
He stressed that it is not about individual praise but about the power of collective action by RSS members. He added that in the RSS, the highest position is that of an ordinary volunteer.
