IIT Delhi Student Found Dead In Hostel Room, No Visible Injuries On Body
The second-year student was found lying in an unconscious state on the bed inside his hostel room in IIT Delhi on Wednesday. He was declared dead on the spot by IIT Doctors.

A second-year Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi student was found dead in his hostel room on Wednesday. The student was pursuing a degree in Biomechanical Engineering. He was found unconscious in his locked room, with no visible external injuries on his body.
The Crime Team and Forensic Team were called to the spot for further investigation and examination after the body was found. The body was later shifted to the Safdarjung Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examination after the necessary legal and procedural formalities.
A PCR call was received at PS Kishangarh on May 4 regarding a student not opening the door of his room in IIT Delhi. SHO Kishangarh along with police staff immediately reached the spot after receiving the information. On reaching the room, the door was was found to be locked from inside. Meanwhile, fire service personnel also reached the spot, and the door was forcibly opened with their assistance.

Upon entering the room, they found a male student lying in an unconscious state on the bed. He was declared dead on the spot by IIT Doctors.
Preliminary probe revealed that the deceased was a second-year student of Biomechanical Engineering at IIT Delhi. He had dinner day before yesterday and went back to his room on May 3.
It was only when he was not seen or contacted by any of the fellow students on Tuesday that the matter was reported to the security staff who informed the police. Although there were no visible external injuries found on the student's body, some vomit was seen on the floor, which indicated at the possiblity of health-related complications.
Further enquiry regarding the matter is underway.
