The BJP had indicated during the assembly election that Nayab Singh Saini, who replaced Manohar Lal Khattar as chief minister of Haryana in March, would be its choice for the top post if the party won.
"It has been the tradition of the BJP, what it says, it does; what it does it tells that only... The way the leader of the opposition was preparing as if he was going to be the PM, his hopes have been wiped out," Khatter stated.
