A plane has crashed in Gujarat's Meghani Nagar in Ahmedabad. There is no clarity on the make of the plane yet. The site where the plane crashed is believed to be a residential area. The plane is believed to have been an Air India flight that was going to London. All roads to the area have been closed.

It was an Air India passenger plane -- a Boeing Dreamliner 787 aircraft. It had a capacity of 300 passengers. It was going to London and so, had a lot of fuel for the journey.

As many as 242 passengers were likely to have been on board the plane, as per news agency ANI. The plane is believed to have crashed into a periphery wall of the airport.

Fire-brigade engines, ambulances, and other emergency vehicles are on the spot.
