Gujarat Air India Plane Crashed Into Ahmedabad Doctors' Hostel, 25 Doctors Injured
An Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner (VT-ANB), flight AI171 to London, crashed in Ahmedabad, hitting a hospital wall. Former CM Vijay Rupani is among the feared dead.

The Air India plane that crashed on June 12 in Ahmedabad hit a hostel that housed doctors. Twenty-five doctors are learnt to have been injured in the incident.
Several people are feared to have been killed in the incident. Among the deceased was former Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani.
It was an Air India passenger plane -- a Boeing Dreamliner 787 aircraft. It had a capacity of 300 passengers. It was going to London and had a lot of fuel for the journey.

As many as 242 passengers were likely to have been on board the plane, as per news agency ANI. The plane is believed to have crashed into a perimeter wall of the airport.
The aircraft involved in the Air India #AI171 crash is a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner with registration number VT-ANB and serial number 36279. The first flight of the aircraft was on 2013-12-14 and it was delivered to Air India in January 2014.
DG AAIB, Director of investigation, and Go Team are leaving for Ahmedabad.
Minister of Civil Aviation, Rammohan Naidu, who was in Vijayawada attending the first anniversary events of the NDA Government, rushed to Ahmedabad immediately upon receiving news of the flight crash.
Treating the incident with utmost urgency, the Minister cut short his engagements and is now en route to personally oversee the situation on the ground. He is in constant contact with senior officials from DGCA, AAI, NDRF, and the Gujarat State administration to ensure swift, coordinated response and support.
Rescue and medical teams are on site. Passenger safety and emergency response remain the highest priorities.
