Cylinder-Laden Truck Catches Fire In Mumbai's Dharavi Area, Video Shows Multiple Explosions — On Cam

The blaze broke out after a truck carrying gas cylinders caught fire on Sion-Dharavi Link Road in Dharavi, causing multiple explosions.

A fire broke out in densely-populated area of Dharavi in Mumbai late on Monday. The blaze broke out at the Nature Park in PNGP Colony of the Dharavi area in the Maharashtra capital.

The blaze broke out after a truck carrying gas cylinders caught fire on Sion-Dharavi Link Road in Dharavi, causing multiple explosions, IANS reported. An official said that the fire erupted at 9:50 pm when the truck was near Nature Park, PNGP Colony on Sion-Dharavi Link Road.    
The Mumbai Fire Brigade has declared it a Level-II fire and started operations to douse the blaze. There have been no causalities as per initial reports. The incident caused panic in the area and a major traffic jam on the arterial Sion- Dharavi link road. 
 
The official said that eight fire engines, eight jumbo tankers and other equipment has been deployed.
