Advanced Drones Airlifted To Uttarakhand Avalanche Site, CM Dhami Takes Stock Of Rescue Ops— Updates
While four of the rescued Border Road Organisation workers died on Saturday, rescuers continued to search for the remaining four workers, believed to be trapped under snow.

The rescue operation entered second day on Sunday as rescuers raced against time amid bad weather to locate and pull out the remaining four workers who are still missing. So far, fifty workers have been pulled out of snow from the avalanche site in Mana village in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district.
While four of the rescued Border Road Organisation workers died on Saturday, rescuers continued to search for the remaining four workers, believed to be trapped under snow.
The injured BRO workers are being airlifted for further treatment at Joshimath Army Hospital. The Army will use drone-based tech in its search operations and sniffer dogs are also being sent to join the operations in Mana village.

— ANI (@ANI) March 2, 2025 - Chamoli DM Sandeep Tiwari said that doctors have confirmed four deaths and four workers were missing. "Earlier, the total number was 55, but now we have the information that one of the workers was on unauthorized leave, and he is home. The total number has reduced to 54, out of which 4 people are still missing," he said.
- However, the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority (USDMA) said that five labourers were missing but one of them — Sunil Kumar from Kangra in Himachal Pradesh — reached home safely on his own, PTI reported.
- State Disaster Management Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman said that GPR, Victim Locating Cameras, Thermal Imaging Cameras, and other equipment have been sent to trace the missing workers at the earliest. "There have been four casualties. One body is in Joshimath and three are in Badrinath," he told PTI.
- The BRO workers injured in the incident are being airlifted for further treatment at Joshimath Army Hospital.

The SDRF team departed from Sahastradhara with Thermal Imaging Cameras in quest to locate the remaining trapped workers in Mana.

- Thirty-three of them were rescued by Friday night and 17 on Saturday as rescuers braved adverse weather conditions due to rain and snowfall to save those trapped under snow.
