Delhi Weather News: Delhi experienced light rain and drizzle on Tuesday, with the IMD predicting thunderstorms and further showers. The temperatures will range from 21°C to 12°C, with cloudy skies.

Delhi Weather Forecast: Delhiites woke up on Tuesday morning to light showers as light rain drenched parts of the national capital region. The adjacent regions of Delhi, such as Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad, also saw light rainfall. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms and more showers as the sky remained clouded since the morning.

As per the IMD forecast, the maximum and the minimum temperatures would be around 21 degrees Celsius and 12 degrees Celsius respectively on Tuesday. Delhi-NCR is also likely to see smog/shallow fog. In a bulletin, the IMD said a few more spells of light rain accompanied by thunderstorms could follow the morning drizzle. However, at night, smog/mist will prevail. Owing to the light rainfall forecast, a yellow alert has been issued.

There has been a fall in the minimum temperature by 1-2 degrees Celsius over Delhi/NCR over the past 24 hours. The maximum temperature on Monday was 24.4 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was recorded at 10.2 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The maximum and minimum temperatures over Delhi are in the range of 20 to 23 degrees Celsius and 9 to 10 degrees Celsius, respectively. The minimum temperatures are above normal up to 2 degrees Celsius, and the maximum temperature is below normal up to 1-2 degrees Celsius in most places.

On Wednesday, as per the IMD, the maximum temperature could rise 3-4 degrees Celsius and hover between 22 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius. However, the minimum temperature is likely to drop to 9-11 degrees Celsius. It will drop further in the next three days till the weekend. The maximum temperature is unlikely to go beyond 24 degrees Celsius, though. Moreover, the fog cover, too, will hang over Delhi till Saturday.

Apart from Delhi, thunderstorms accompanied with lighting will be witnessed at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and West Uttar Pradesh.

The air quality in the capital remained in the "poor" category, recording an Air Quality Index (AQI) figure of 243 at 8. 30 AM.
