Denied Salary Hike, Ludhiana Man Steals Rs 6 Lakh From Workplace, Arrested In Delhi
After receiving a complaint, an investigative team reviewed footage from over 100 CCTV cameras and questioned staff members, eventually identifying Khan as the suspect.
The Delhi Police have arrested a 20-year-old man from Ludhiana for allegedly stealing Rs 6 lakh in cash and electronic items from his workplace in Naraina after being denied a salary increase.
According to a report by Indian Express, the accused, identified as Hasan Khan, carried out the theft at a bike showroom on December 31, police said on Tuesday. They have recovered cash worth Rs 5 lakh and two expensive cameras from him.
Khan, a technical expert who had been working at the showroom for over a year, reportedly planned the theft after the management refused his request for a salary hike. To avoid detection, he turned off the showroom's lights and wore a helmet to evade identification by the security cameras, police added.

Sambhal MP Zia ur Rahman Booked For Power Theft
Samajwadi Party Lok Sabha MP from Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal, Zia ur Rahman Barq was booked by police for power theft on Thursday. It has been alleged that one of the two electricity meters installed at Barq's residence showed zero power consumption for six months despite being functional.
The registration of FIR comes just hours after a team of officials from the state electricity department visited Barq's residence and checked the meters and electrical equipment used in the house.
The FIR against the Lok Sabha MP has been registered under section 135 of the Indian Electricity Act (Amendment) 2003 at Anti-Power Theft Police Station on charges of meter tampering.
The electricity department official also alleged that Barq's father threatened them when they went for the checking saying he would look after this when his government came into power.
