Know Traffic Restrictions In Delhi For Beating Retreat Rehearsals At Vijay Chowk On Monday, Tuesday

The advisory confirmed that Vijay Chowk will be closed for general traffic from 2 pm to 9.30 pm on Monday and Tuesday.

Delhi police came up with an advisory regarding elaborated traffic arrangements on Monday and Tuesday for the rehearsals of the Beating Retreat ceremony which is scheduled to be held at Vijay Chowk on January 29.

According to news agency PTI, the advisory confirmed that Vijay Chowk will be closed for general traffic from 2 pm to 9.30 pm on Monday and Tuesday. This ceremony marks the formal end of the Republic Day celebrations.

The area of traffic will be restricted on Rafi Marg (between round about Sunehri Masjid and round about Krishi Bhawan), Raisina Road (from round about Krishi Bhawan towards Vijay Chowk), beyond round about Dara Shikoh Road, round about Krishna Menon Marg, and round about Sunehri Masjid towards Vijay Chowk, and Kartavya Path (between Vijay Chowk and 'C'-Hexagon).

Other City Buses To Be Diverted From Their Regular Routes

Motorists and the public are advised to use alternate routes such as Ring Road, Ridge Road, Aurobindo Marg, Madarsa T-Point, Safdarjung Road, Kamal Ataturk Marg, Rani Jhansi Road, and Minto Road.

To ease traffic congestion during rehearsals around Vijay Chowk and India Gate, DTC, and other city buses will be diverted from their regular routes between 2 pm and 9:30 pm on Monday and Tuesday.

Buses heading to Central Secretariat and Connaught Place via Shanti Path, Vinay Marg, and Sardar Patel Marg will instead follow Panchsheel Marg, Simon Bolivar Marg, Vande Matram Marg, Shankar Road roundabout, and Sheikh Mujibur Rehman Road.

Central Secretariat-bound buses will terminate at Udyan Marg and return using Kali Bari Marg, Mandir Marg, and Shankar Road. Buses going to Connaught Place will take Mandir Marg, Kali Bari Marg, Baba Khadak Singh Marg, and reach Connaught Place, returning via Bhagat Singh Marg, Peshwa Road, Mandir Marg, Shankar Road, and Vande Matram Marg.

Buses heading to Old Delhi Railway Station, Red Fort, and ISBT Kashmiri Gate from the southern side will follow Ring Road from AIIMS to Dhaula Kuan, then Ridge Road and Rani Jhansi Road.

For buses travelling to Old Delhi Railway Station, Red Fort, and ISBT Kashmiri Gate from the Ashram side, the route will include Ashram Chowk, Ring Road towards Sarai Kale Khan, and then continue via Raj Ghat.

Buses departing from Old Delhi Railway Station, Red Fort, and ISBT Kashmiri Gate toward South and Southeast Delhi will follow Delhi Gate, Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, Raj Ghat, Ring Road, Sarai Kale Khan, and Ashram Chowk.

And, all those buses coming from Vikas Marg and heading south will travel via Ring Road, Sarai Kale Khan, and Ashram Chowk. Those departing from Connaught Place via Kasturba Gandhi Marg toward India Gate will follow Minto Road, DDU Marg, IP Flyover, Ring Road, and Sarai Kale Khan.
