Charred Body Recovered, 2 Firefighters Injured As Cylinder Blast Triggers Blaze In Delhi’s Motia Khan Area
A fire in Delhi's Motia Khan area resulted in one death and injury to two firefighters after an LPG cylinder blast.

Delhi News: A charred body was recovered, and two firefighters sustained injuries after a fire broke out in the Motia Khan area of Delhi on Sunday afternoon, an official from the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) said.
According to DFS, the fire erupted at a house around 3:01 pm, prompting an emergency response. Four fire tenders were rushed to the site after receiving the distress call. DFS chief Atul Garg said that two firefighters—Ravinder Singh and Ved—were injured during the operation when an LPG cylinder exploded. "They were immediately taken to a hospital for treatment," he said, as per news agency PTI.

Once the fire was brought under control, rescue teams searched the premises and discovered a completely charred body on the fourth floor. The identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed, Garg added.

Fire At Scrap Material Yard In Jharkhand’s Chatra District
In a separate incident, a fire broke out at the scrap material yard of NTPC’s North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Project (NKSTPP) in Jharkhand’s Chatra district on Saturday. Officials said the blaze, which started around 12 pm, was brought under control within one and a half hours by CISF personnel with the help of three fire engines.
An NTPC official stated that the scrap yard is located about one kilometre from the main facility, and there was no loss of life or material. The NKSTPP has a total capacity of 1,980 MW and is the country’s first supercritical thermal power project designed with an air-cooled condenser to reduce water consumption significantly.
State-owned NTPC is India’s largest power generation company.
