Lajpat Nagar Double Murder: Domestic Help Slits Throats Of Mother, Son After Being Scolded

Lajpat Nagar: The incident took a suspicious turn as the family’s domestic help has gone missing since the murders. Police suspect the house help may be involved in the crime.

A horrifying double murder has rocked Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar-1 locality, where a mother and her 14-year-old son were found brutally murdered inside their home. Both victims had their throats slit, police said.

The victims were identified as Ruchika (42), who ran a garment shop at Lajpat Nagar market along with her husband, and her son Krish (14).

The police received information about the crime on Wednesday evening, after neighbours knocked on the door several times but received no response. Upon being alerted, a police team reached the scene and forced open the main door, only to discover the two bodies lying in pools of blood.

Domestic Help Arrested After Lajpat Murder

The incident took a suspicious turn as the family’s domestic help, Mukesh, had gone missing since the murders. The 24-year-old accused has been apprehended by UP Police from a train at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction while he was on the run. Mukesh said he was scolded by Ruchika, and therefore, he committed the crime.

The sequence began when Ruchika’s husband, Kuldeep, returned home and found the main door locked from inside. He also noticed blood stains on the staircase, which raised his suspicion.

He immediately called the police around 9:40 PM on Wednesday night. Upon entering the house, police found Ruchika’s body in the bedroom and Krish’s body in the bathroom. Both had suffered fatal injuries.

The police have sent the bodies for post-mortem, while forensic teams examine the crime scene for clues. A murder case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
