Delhi CM Oath-Taking Ceremony Today: Traffic Police Issues Advisory, Check Restrictions And Diversions

As per the advisory, restrictions will be imposed from 7 AM to 4 PM on Thursday on key roads to ensure smooth traffic management amid the anticipated rush due to the oath-taking ceremony.

Delhi CM Oath-Taking Ceremony Today: The Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory for February 20 in view of the oath-taking ceremony of the newly-elected Chief Minister of Delhi Rekha Gupta at Ramlila Ground today.

The traffic advisory has imposed restrictions on commuters who are planning their travel in the national capital as hundreds of guests are expected to attend the mega swearing-in ceremony. As per the advisory, restrictions will be imposed from 7 AM to 4 PM on Thursday on key roads to ensure smooth traffic management amid the anticipated rush due to the oath-taking.

Sharing the traffic advisory on X, the Delhi police wrote: "In view of the swearing-in ceremony of Hon’ble CM of Delhi on February 20, 2025 at Ram Leela Ground, New Delhi, special traffic arrangements have been made. Kindly follow the advisory."

Traffic Restrictions:

The Delhi traffic police advised commuters to avoid taking the following routes from 07:00 AM to 04:00 PM on 20.02.2025:

  • Bahadur Shah Zafar MargMarg (ITO to Delhi Gate)
  • Jawaharlal Nehru Marg (Delhi Gate to Guru Nanak Chowk)
  • Aruna Asif Ali Road, New Delhi
  • Minto Road to Round About Kamla Market to Hamdard Chowk
  • Ranjeet Singh Flyover to Turkman Gate
  • Ajmeri Gate to Round About Kamla Market

People headed to New Dehi Railway Station have been asked to avoid taking the Ajmeri Gate route and instead opt for the Paharganj route.

Diversion Points:

The following route diversions have been announced by the Delhi Traffic police:

  • Raj Ghat
  • Subhash Park T-Point
  • Delhi Gate
  • ITO
  • Ajmeri Gate
  • Ranjeet Singh Flyover
  • Bhavbhuti Marg - DDU Marg Red Light
  • Round About Jhandewalan

General Instructions For Commuters:

  • Use public transport to help reduce congestion.
  • Park your vehicles only in designated parking areas.
  • Avoid roadside parking for smooth traffic flow.
  • Inform the police immediately in case of any unusual or suspicious objects or individuals are noticed.
  • Commuters and general public are requested to patiently observe traffic rules and follow the directions given by the traffic personnel deployed at key intersections.
