Delhi CM Atishi Gets Seat No. 1 In Assembly, Kejriwal Shifts To 41 After New Seating Plan

Atishi, who was sworn in as the CM earlier this month, becoming Delhi's third female CM, earlier occupied seat number 19 in the Assembly. She will now be occupying seat number one.

The seating arrangement in the Delhi Assembly has been updated following the resignation of Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi's appointment as the new Chief Minister of Delhi. As per the new arrangement, the newly appointed CM Atishi has now been alloted the first seat in the Assembly, which was earlier occupied by Kejriwal. Meanwhile, the former CM and Aam Aadmi Party supremo Kejriwal has been shifted to seat number 41.

Atishi, who was sworn in as the CM earlier this month, becoming Delhi's third female CM, earlier occupied seat number 19 in the Assembly.

Besides Kejriwal and Atishi, the seats of several other Delhi ministers have been changed. Former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, who used to sit right next to Kejriwal on seat number two, will now be accompanying him again as his updated seat number is 40, which is again next to Kejriwal.

As per the updated seating arrangement, seat number two will now be occupied by Saurabh Bharadwaj. He used to sit at seat number eight earlier. The Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta, will sit at seat number 100 instead of 94.

The newly-inducted Delhi cabinet minister Mukesh Ahlawat has been alloted seat number 14. Other ministers whose seats have been changed are Kailash Gahlot, Mukesh Ahlawat, Vinay Mishra, Ajay Mahawar, Girish Soni, Somnath Bharti, Rituraj Govind, and Imran Hussain among others.

The new seating arrangement has been announced just days after Atishi took charge as the Delhi CM on September 23. After taking oath, she had refused to sit on the chair used by her "guru" Arvind Kejriwal. She left his chair empty beside her own to show her allegiance to the former Delhi CM.

AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal will also be addressing the Delhi Assembly today (September 26) at 4 PM. This will be the first time that he would address the house following his interim bail and resignation.
