Class 1 Student Suffers Internal Bleeding In Ear After Being Beaten By Teacher in Delhi

Delhi Police had kept the matter pending since February 18, but registered an offence under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Section and the Juvenile Justice Act after legal examination.

A class 1 student suffed internal bleeding in the ear after being allegedly beaten by a teacher in a school in Delhi. After the matter was brought to light, the teacher was booked by the Delhi Police for assaulting the six-year-old.

The incident took place on February 17 at Nagar Nigam School, Shri Ram Colony in northeast Delhi. It was reported a day later on February 18 through a PCR call, news agency PTI reported.

When the student was medically examined at JPC Hospital, it was found that the child had internal bleeding in the ear, the Delhi Police said in a statement.

However, there were no external injuries found during the medical examination.

The student's mother did not lodge any complaint and refused to provide a statement to the police on the pretext of her husband's absence. She told the police that the child's father had travelled to his native place in Bihar, PTI reported.

Delhi Police had kept the matter pending since February 18, but registered an offence under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Section and the Juvenile Justice Act after legal examination, the statement said.

Delhi Police has registered a case under section 115 (2) BNS and section 75 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015. Further investigation has been initiated.
