Jharkhand Exam Protest: Students Continue Overnight Agitation in Ranchi Stadium
The student movement in Jharkhand over alleged paper leaks and flaws in the examination system continues to intensify, with hundreds of students staying at Ranchi’s stadium day and night. Despite heavy rain and difficult conditions, protesters are using candlelight, mobile flashlights, and torch marches to keep pressure on the government. They say their movement will continue until their demands are fulfilled. The students are demanding a CBI investigation, arguing that the ongoing SIT and CID probes under the state government do not provide enough confidence of an independent inquiry. Protesters allege that repeated recruitment irregularities have damaged students’ faith in the examination system and created a perception that money influences job selections. Through rallies, marches, and a recent tricolour procession, students have highlighted concerns about their future and the struggles of middle-class families, farmers, and workers’ children preparing for government jobs. They say the issue is not limited to one examination but reflects a larger need for reforms. The protesters want a transparent system where merit, rather than unfair practices, becomes the only basis for selection.
