CISF Jawan Suicides At Kolkata Airport In The Past

This is not the first time a jawan committed suicide. A year ago, a CISF jawan reportedly shot himself with his service rifle at the Kolkata airport. The CISF jawan from Telangana was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

A similar incident came to the fore in 2022 when the body of sub-inspector Pankaj Kumar was found soaked in blood in the basement toilet meant for airport staff. The police said a gunshot alerted everyone at the airport.

As the airport security personnel rushed into the toilet, they were stunned by the scene. The CISF jawan lay soaked in blood in the toilet. Police further said that the jawan had a bullet wound on his forehead and his service pistol was found lying near his body.
