Power Cuts In Chennai: Routine Maintenance

This routine maintenance shutdown follows a major power cut on Wednesday, February 5, which affected 190 locations across Chennai, including Adyar, Vyasarpadi, Kundrathur, and Porur.

The five-hour electricity disruption in Tamil Nadu has been a long-standing practice to facilitate maintenance work.

While Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) states that these scheduled outages are necessary for upkeep, power disruptions continue to raise concerns among residents and businesses. With temperatures rising, the demand for uninterrupted power supply is growing, making these cuts a significant issue.

However, TANGEDCO has always assured that the power supply would resume ahead of schedule if the maintenance work is completed well in advance.

The residents of these areas are requested to plan their schedule accordingly to avoid last minute tension.
