Why Chennai Power Shutdown?

The power shutdown in Chennai usually happens because the electricity supply board needs to carry out maintenance or repair work on the power grid. This can include checking and fixing transformers, substations, or overhead lines, as well as upgrading equipment to ensure stable power supply in the future.

Sometimes, scheduled maintenance is necessary to prevent unexpected outages or accidents caused by equipment failure. At times, sudden demand surges or technical faults in the distribution network can also lead to temporary blackouts.
