BPSC Aspirants Protest In Patna Against State Govt, Demand Re-Exam — Video

A re-exam was recently ordered for over 10,000 candidates who had appeared for the examination at the Bapu Pariksha Parisar centre. The results were declared on Jan 23 amid protests against BPSC.

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) aspirants staged protest in Patna on Thursday, continuing their demand for cancellation of the 70th Integrated Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) and a re-examination due to alleged irregularities. The protests have reached its 45th day as on January 30, 2025.

The candidates have been protesting against the BPSC, accusing it of a paper leak during the 70th prelims. However, the Commission has denied all these allegations and maintained that the 70th BPSC CCE will not be cancelled.

The 70th BPSC Prelims were conducted on December 13, 2024. However, the exam held at the Bapu Pariksha Parisar exam centre in Patna was cancelled after protests erupted over alleged queastion paper leak.

Subsequently, a re-examination was ordered for over 10,000 candidates who had appeared for the examination at the Bapu Pariksha Parisar. The re-exam was held on January 4, 2025, and the results were declared on January 23, amid massive statewide protests over the alleged irregularities.

Chirag Paswan Demands Cancellation Of BPSC Exams

Union Minister Chirag Paswan on Wednesday backed the protesting aspirants for their demand regarding cancellation of BPSC exams held last month, PTI reported.

He said that he was told at some centres, question papers were not available in adequate numbers, following which they were printed after the tests had officially begun. "After a short while, these question papers were for all to see on social media platforms like WhatsApp and X," he added.

The Union minister further lambasted the BPSC authorities for turning a deaf year to the complaints raised by the aspirants and questioned why the commission ordered re-examination for one of the centres if it was sure that everything was fine.

"I believe that the entire exam, not just for one or two centres, be cancelled and held afresh and the BPSC must ensure that standard operating procedure is observed. I have expressed this opinion in the past and will continue to do so till the voice of youngsters is not heard," he said.
