BJP's Akshata Tendulkar Booked For 'Assaulting' Muslim Street Vendors In Mumbai

BJP leader Akshata Tendulkar has been booked for assaulting street vendors along with her supporters in Mumbai's Dadar area. The BJP leader is accused of attacking the vendors during a dispute over the employment of a Muslim man.
The BJP leader had posted a video on her Facebook account, showing her supporters assaulting street vendors who were allegedly occupying space illegally in Dadar. A case was registered against her after the video went viral. She later deleted the video from her Facebook page.
Asked For Aadhaar Card After Assaulting
According to the FIR filed by the police, the person seen being assaulted is identified as Sofiyan Shahid Ali. After being attacked, he told his employer that Tendulkar, along with about 8 to 9 supporters, had assaulted him and was demanding his Aadhaar card.
The complainant, Shankar Mishra, stated that Tendulkar said, "Don't you understand? You are hiring a Muslim. Because of people like you, riots happen. If you hire a Muslim again, we will deal with you."
The police have registered a case against nine people under sections 189(2), 191(2), 115(2), 352, 351(2), 37(1), and 135 of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita) at Mumbai's Shivaji Park Police Station.
