Bihar Heatwave: Orange Alert Issued As Temperatures Soar, Relief Expected Soon
An orange alert has been issued for North Bihar. Expect strong winds, thunderstorms, light rain, and lightning in some areas today.

Bihar Weather Today: The intense heat in many districts of the state has people sweltering. On Wednesday, June 11, there was a severe heatwave in many parts of Bihar. The temperature crossed 40 degrees Celsius in at least 12 districts across the state, the Patna Regional Meteorological Centre stated.
Highest Temperature In Buxar
According to the Patna Regional Meteorological Centre, the highest temperature was 42.8 degrees in Buxar district on Wednesday. Gopalganj recorded a maximum temperature of 41.7 degrees Celsius. The temperature was 41.5 degrees in Dehri of Rohtas, 40.8 degrees in Bhojpur, 40.7 degrees in Patna, 40.6 degrees in Gaya and Aurangabad, 40.5 degrees in Motihari, and 40.4 degrees Celsius in Valmiki Nagar, Saran, Darbhanga. A maximum temperature of 40.1 degrees was recorded in Jiradei of Siwan.
According to the Meteorological Department, the extreme heat conditions will continue in many parts of the state for the next few days. A senior officer of the Bihar Disaster Management Department has advised people to avoid the heat, maintain coolness and not let the body become dehydrated.
Orange Alert Issued
On the other hand, there is a possibility of strong winds with a speed of 50-60 km per hour in some parts of the northern areas of the state today. Along with this, an orange alert has been issued for thunder and lightning. The Meteorological Department says that there is a warning of hot and humid days in the remaining districts, including Patna. The temperature is going to cross 40 degrees in many districts today as well.
However, there is a possibility of a drop in temperature after 48 hours. People may get relief from the intense heat in the state after two days. On Saturday, June 14, there is a possibility of thunder, lightning and rain in all the districts of the state, including capital Patna.
