Massive Fire Engulfs Warehouse Near Mumbai, Efforts On To Control Blaze: Video
A massive fire destroyed a warehouse in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, on Saturday. The fire, which involved chemicals and other materials, is being extinguished by six fire tenders.
Bhiwandi News: A massive fire erupted at a godown in Bhiwandi taluka in Maharashtra's Thane district in the early hours of Saturday. The strong blaze burnt to ashes an entire warehouse, however, no one was injured in the incident, a fire official said.
The fire was reported at V Logistics warehouse, located about 40 km from Mumbai, and efforts are still on to bring the blaze under control. As per reports, around six fire tenders from Bhiwandi, Kalyan, and Thane cities have been engaged in bringing the fire under control. The warehouse is reportedly located near the Mumbai-Nashik highway.
The blaze erupted around 2.35 am at a godown in Valshind village in Bhiwandi on the Mumbai-Nashik Highway, the official from the civic fire control room said. "Two fire engines from Bhiwandi and a few more from neighbouring Kalyan and Mumbai are involved in the firefighting operations, and the blaze has not been brought under control yet," he said.
Visuals from early morning showed the warehouse on fire, with most of its structure in ashes and plumes of black smoke in the air. The fire destroyed the warehouse, which housed a large quantity of hydraulic oil, cloth, plastic goods, and chemicals. The smoke billowing from the premises could be seen from far away.
