Bengal TMC Leader Found Dead In Belgharia

Local TMC leader Enayetullah Khan was found dead in Belgharia. He was shot near his residence but his body was discovered in the morning.

Trinamool Congress leader Enayetullah Khan Alias Rehan Khan was found dead in Belgharia. Locals rushed him to Sagore Datta Medical College, where doctors pronounced him dead. Belgharia police deployed a large force at the scene.

His body remained unattended throughout the night before being discovered early in the morning, reported news website Aajkal. The shocking incident occurred late last night in Rajib Nagar, located in Ward 35 of Kamarhati Municipality.

Locals said the assailants must have shot Khan near his residence and fled the scene. His corpse was discovered by locals early Wednesday morning.

A heavy police force has been deployed in the area. Senior police officers, including the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), arrived to take stock of the crime scene. Notably, the murder occurred close to the local police station, an area regularly patrolled by police teams.

As of now, no arrest has been made. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage from the area as part of the investigation. The incident has triggered fear and tension among residents.

TMC Leader Injured In Shooting

The incident comes just weeks after a TMC leader and his friend were seriously injured in a brazen gun attack in Belgharia. The incident unfolded around 9 PM on March 8 when Vikas Singh, a leader of TMC’s labour cell, was sitting at a tea stall in Ward No. 29.

According to witnesses, two to three assailants arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire, targeting Singh and his friend, Santu. Three rounds were fired — one bullet struck Singh in the waist, while another hit Santu in the arm. The attackers then fired another round in the air before speeding away.
