Ayodhya Dalit Murder: Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad broke into tears and was inconsolable during a press conference after a 22-year-old Dalit woman was found dead in a desolate canal near her village in Ayodhya.
Prasad, MP from the Faizabad Lok Sabha seat that houses Ayodhya, said he will resign as a Member of Parliament.
"Let me to go Delhi, to Lok Sabha. I will keep the matter in front of (PM) Modi and if we don't get justice, then I will resign," he said as others present there tried to console him.
Sharing a video from the press conference, Prasad wrote on X, "These heinous crimes are extremely sad. The body of a daughter of a Dalit family who was missing for 3 days was found naked in the Sardar Patel Ward of Sahanawan Gram Sabha, Ayodhya. Both her eyes were gouged out and she was treated inhumanly. This government cannot do justice."

Her Eyes Were Missing, Claim Woman's Family Members
The woman's family members have claimed that her eyes were missing and that the body bore deep wounds and fractures. The woman had been missing since Thursday night. The body was found by her brother-in-law, 500 metres away from the village on Saturday morning. Her limbs were tied with ropes and her body had multiple deep cuts, her family members claimed.
Villagers who draped and transported the body noticed a fractured leg. Her elder sister and two women collapsed upon witnessing the horrific condition of the body.
Circle Officer Ashutosh Tiwari told PTI that the post-mortem report will determine further action. "Once we receive the post-mortem findings, we will proceed accordingly," he added.
The woman's family has accused police of inaction, alleging that officers did not actively search for her despite the missing report.
