At Least 20 Injured In Gas Cylinder Blast In MP's Chhatarpur
Though the exact number of those injured is not known, Bijawar MLA Rajesh Shukla, who reached the spot, said 35 persons sustained injuries in the incident.
At least 20 people have been injured in a gas cylinder blast in Chhatarpur district in Madhya Pradesh. Following the incident, the injured were rushed to the district hospital and were treated for burn injuries.
As per initial reports, 20 to 25 people have been reported injured in the incident. It is reported that the accident occurred near the Bijawar bus stand in Chhatarpur.
The explosion took place in a hand cart selling patties in Bijawar, some 38 kilometres from the district headquarters, Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Shashank Jain said.
Prime facie, the explosion took place due to heat in the cylinder. Some twenty persons were injured and have been admitted to the district hospital.

RP Gupta, the Chief Medical Officer, said 23 victims arrived at the hospital suffering burn injuries, with some enduring around 40 percent burns. The authorities have ordered investigation even as efforts are underway to ascertain the cause of the explosion.
