AAP Claims BJP Will Demolish All Slums If It Comes To Power In Delhi; BJP Hits Back

Ahead of Delhi Assembly elections, the AAP alleged that the BJP plans to demolish slums after winning the elections. However, BJP President claims these allegations are false.

Ahead of Delhi Assembly Elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will demolish all the slums in Delhi, if the saffron party wins the elections.

While speaking at a press conference at Shakur Basti, AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal said," BJP will demolish the slums as soon as the elections are over on February 8."

A post from AAP on X (formerly Twitter) reads, "BJP is cheating the slum dwellers. BJP is saying that they will give houses in place of slums but on 30 September 2024, the railways tendered this land. 15 days ago LG changed the land use of these slums. The slum dwellers have no idea that the people playing Carrom with the children in their houses will demolish the slums as soon as the elections are over on 8th February."

The former CM of Delhi has also accused that the BJP has rendered 3 lakh slum dwellers homeless.

Replying to Kejriwal's visit at Shakur Basti, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said, as quoted by PTI, "Today, Arvind Kejriwal reached Shakur Basti, and even there, the residents rejected him. Everyone knows the condition Arvind Kejriwal has brought Delhi to in the past 10 years. And now, when people are saying that they need to replace 'aapda' with BJP, Kejriwal cannot tolerate it. The residents of these slums trust the guarantees given by PM Modi."

The Delhi Assembly Polls are scheduled for February 5 and the results will be declared on February 8.
