Video: 6 Women Narrowly Escape Being Swept Away In Raging Waterfall After Dramatic Rescue In Bihar

Villagers said this was the first time they had seen such a powerful flow at the Languriya waterfall. The area had been calm, but the sudden influx of water forced visitors to evacuate immediately.

Six women narrowly avoided tragedy after being swept by a sudden surge of water at the Languriya hill waterfall in Bihar’s Gaya district. The dramatic event, which occurred on Sunday, was recorded on video and has quickly circulated on social media, highlighting the hazards present at natural water sites.

The footage, lasting nearly two minutes, depicts the women trapped on rocks in the middle of the waterfall amid rapidly rising water. One woman managed to escape first by crossing to safety. However, three others, who were attempting to follow the same route, were caught by the current.

Fortunately, they were quickly pulled to safety by local villagers just meters from what seemed like a steep drop. Another woman was rescued from the opposite side of the waterfall, while the last remaining woman was saved a few minutes later by bystanders.

During these rescue efforts, one woman sustained injuries after being thrown against a rock and was subsequently treated at a local hospital, officials told NDTV.

Witnesses reported that the area had been calm, with many people enjoying the waterfall as the weather was normal. However, the sudden influx of water gushing from the hill forced visitors to evacuate the area immediately.

Villagers said this was the first time they had seen such a powerful flow at the Languriya waterfall.

This comes as monsoon has covered the entire country, with the India Meteorological Department forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Bihar. The state is also very likely to receive thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph). The same weather conditions have been forecast for the state on July 2.

On July 3, the IMD has forecast heavy rainfall at isolated places over Bihar along with thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph). This forecast has also been made for July 4.
