S Jaishankar Meets Singapore FM Vivian Balakrishnan To Discuss Bilateral Ties, Trade Concerns

The minister met Balakrishnan along with two other senior officials and engaged in discussions regarding the situation in the Indo-Pacific and West Asia regions

S Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of the Government of India, met his Singaporean counterpart, Vivian Balakrishnan, on Monday to discuss the bilateral ties between the nations. The minister met Balakrishnan along with two other senior officials and engaged in discussions regarding the situation in the Indo-Pacific and West Asia regions.

The External Affairs Minister is currently on a three-day trip to Singapore and reached the country on Saturday, reported PTI. Jaishankar addressed the Indian diaspora in the nation on Sunday. 

Additionally, the minister also held separate meetings with Gan Kim Yong, Minister of Trade and Industry, and Teo Chee Hean, Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security. The Indian minister also shared the details of the meeting in a post on social media platform X and said that the officials held discussions regarding trade, green energy, supply chains, and defence issues between the two countries. 

After Singapore, the EAM is set to visit the Philippines and Malaysia. The complete tour will last from March 23 to 27 and will be focused on boosting the bilateral relations within the three nations. It will also aim to provide a platform to discuss regional issues of mutual concern for all the countries involved.
