Mohandas Pai Criticises Indigo For Delaying Flight In Bengaluru Without AC
Several X users also came forward to share their take on the whole situation. “They are very reluctant to switch on APU (auxiliary power unit)," wrote one of the internet users
TV Mohandas Pai criticised Indigo airline on Sunday following a disappointing flight experience in Bengaluru. The Infosys former CFO shared that he and other passengers were forced to wait inside the plane without air conditioning (AC) before takeoff.
Taking to X (Formerly Twitter), Pai wrote, "Indigo treats its passengers badly. Sitting in 6E 7407 without AC on hot tarmac in Bengaluru. No way to treat passengers. Only after a protest, staff used a tarmac generator for AC. Please change your protocol." He also tagged the airports authority of India and aviation minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu in the post.
In response to Pai's post, the airline stated that his feedback had been forwarded to the relevant team. "Sir, thank you for taking the time to meet our airport team. At IndiGo, customer comfort is of utmost importance to us. We assure you that your feedback is noted and we will share it with the concerned team for necessary review. We appreciate your patience and understanding," the airline said.

Several X users also came forward to share their take on the whole situation. “They are very reluctant to switch on APU (auxiliary power unit) because of cost implications without any considerations to inconvenience to passengers. Elderly and babies can be seriously affected,” wrote one of the internet users.
Another user added, “Recently my daughter was travelling from Bangalore to Delhi PNR B4NKFN had a bad experience after landing at Delhi she had to wait long 1 hour to get her baggage & non of the Indigo officials at the airport were in helping her what will u call this.”
Meanwhile, according to a Moneycontrol report citing an airline source it was clarified that the air conditioning was not turned on while the flight was on the tarmac because it was an ATR aircraft. In these planes, the AC is activated once the engines reach full power after takeoff.
