Are Markets Open Or Closed On March 31?
However, in the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr today, the Indian stock market will remain closed on March 31, 2025. Both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the BSE have suspended trading for the day as per their official holiday calendars.
Besides the equity markets, the currency derivatives segment is also shut. However, trading in the commodity derivatives segment is scheduled to resume in the evening session. The evening trading window will commence at 5 PM and continue until either 11:30 PM or 11:55 PM, depending on the segment.
Stock market operations, including equity and derivatives trading, will resume as usual on Tuesday, April 1.
India is celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr today, marking the end of Ramadan 2025. The sighting of the Crescent Moon in Lucknow on Sunday, March 30, confirmed the festival date for March 31. Meanwhile, several Arab nations observed Eid a day earlier, on March 30.
