American Startup Founder Receives Abusive Messages From Rejected Job Applicant In Bengaluru

The post elicited a flurry of responses from users, who reacted with astonishment and disapproval of the applicant’s conduct

Anthony Klor, an American entrepreneur and founder of Catoff Gaming, recently faced a troubling incident while conducting hiring activities in India. Now based in Bengaluru after relocating from San Francisco, Klor took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to recount an unsettling encounter he had with a job applicant whom he ultimately had to reject.

In his post, Klor shared a screenshot revealing abusive messages he received from the job applicant on X. The messages displayed a disturbing level of hostility, with the applicant demanding that Klor apologises to his mother for giving birth to him, accompanied by swear words.

Klor captioned his post with, "Sometimes job candidates in India don’t take rejection very well…" He also sought clarification on the meaning of the Hindi swear word used by the jobseeker.

Later, Klor inquired with the applicant about his continued interest in the job, to which he received another crude response: "Yes in a b*** *** from a foreigner's mouth named Tony [sic].”

The post elicited a flurry of responses from users, who reacted with astonishment and disapproval of the applicant’s conduct. One user lightened the mood with a humorous interpretation of the insult and wrote, “Hire him. Will give honest feedback and you don't have to bother about his feelings.”

“Might be that guy done but I got 100s of rejection people should know how to take rejection and how to handle them but don't throw blame on others, it might be your mistake too,” added another X user.

A third X user wrote, “I think he might've misunderstood you here for a scammer, I treat any WhatsApp message from a foreign number as a scam - since I don't have any foreign contacts that're on WhatsApp. And this conversation does seem like he might've thought the same.”
