Bank Holidays: Branches To Remain Shut For 13 Days In August 2024, Check State-Wise Holiday List Here

This holiday list is issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The banking regulator decides these holidays on the basis of festivals, regional celebrations, and general weekend holidays

Bank Holidays in August 2024: During the month of August, banks are scheduled to remain closed for a total of 13 days due to both national and regional holidays. 

Customers are advised to schedule their bank appointments and errands in the month ahead after checking the complete bank holiday list below. This holiday list is issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The banking regulator decides these holidays on the basis of festivals, regional celebrations, and general weekend holidays. 

The typical weekend leaves are applicable for all banks and their branches across the country. The list below is inclusive of festivals, weekend holidays like fourth Saturdays, national holidays, and all Sundays.

During these holidays, the physical offices of the banks are shut down for business, however, digital banking services are completely operational in the period. Individuals can take advantage of servcies such as UPI, internet banking, mobile banking, etc, to handle their financial errands. Any disruption in these services is informed well in advance.

The State Government, Central Government, and Union Territories Act of 1881 lists the bank holidays. The  bank holiday calendar for the complete year is published by the RBI and this holiday calendar is adhered to by all banks in the country.
