Former Shark Tank India Judge and celebrated entrepreneur Ashneer Grover is a renowned name in the start-up ecosystem, especially fintech. His journey in the startup sector prominently showcases his role in Bharatpe, a fintech startup offering QR-based payment solutions to smaller merchants. The organisation has successfully implemented digital payments in the country. Grover, along with Shashvat Nakrani, founded BharatPe in 2028, and in 2020, Grover took over as Bharat Pe’s CEO.

The exponential growth of Bharat Pe made it a fast-growing company in the Indian Fintech space. Grover also appeared as a judge on Shark Tank, where he marked headlines and raised brows for his blunt and straightforward attitude. Grover reportedly earned a salary of Rs 1.69 crores from Bharat Pe. As of May 2024, his monthly income is approximately $83,000, according to the Private equity firm Altius Investech.

Grover’s Net Worth

The entrepreneur invested around Rs 2.95 crores in 11 startups during the first season of Shark Tank India, further enhancing his public profile and financial influence.

Over the years, his net worth has steadily increased. From an estimated $95 million in 2022, it rose to approximately $108 million, or 900 crores, by 2024, as per Altius Investech. This growth can be attributed to his strategic investments, leadership roles, and stake in BharatPe. Grover’s strategic financial decisions have been pivotal in building his wealth. For instance, in 2021, during Zomato’s IPO, he leveraged Rs 5 crore to secure around Rs 95 crore in financing, generating significant profits shortly after the stock’s opening.

In 2013, he joined American Express to oversee corporate development. In 2015, he founded Grofers, an online grocery delivery service. Under his leadership, Grofers experienced rapid growth, attracting a large customer base and securing significant funding.

Grover has also led acquisitions and mergers for major corporations in India. His strategic vision propelled BharatPe to prominence in the digital payments sector, which now processes over 50 million monthly transactions. 

Later, Grover left Grofers and rejoined American Express, where he played a crucial role in shaping the company's strategy and growth. His extensive experience in startups has enabled him to introduce innovative approaches to the traditionally conservative finance industry.
