It seems the super luxury segment has taken off in the automotive market with increasing demand for higher end vehicles towards the Rs 1 crore above mark. The is indicated by the new G63 AMG where the first lot of cars are already sold out in India. The new G63 AMG has a biturbo V8 4.0 litre but now gets a 48v mild hybrid system.

There is a lot of power with this car as it develops 577 bhp and 850 Nm of torque. The G63 AMG has always been a popular SUV but in recent years the demand has increased. It is a high performance SUV but with a rugged DNA. Interestingly despite the G63 being an offroad performance SUV it now gets launch control too while the top speed is 240 km/h. Another number would be it's 229mm ground clearance and the fact that it is a true blue offroader along with a high water wading depth.

For Mercedes-Benz the higher end segment of cars have increased in sales over the years with Maybach and the recently launched EQS Maybach. Even the electric G wagon has a sizeable number of bookings in India. This clearly shows that India has now an increasing appetite for higher end cars.
