Tata Tiago EV 2025 India Review, Range And Features

The updated Tiago EV is easier to spot with the new bumper design similar to other Tata EVs while there are LEDs now while fog lamps have been removed

The Tiago EV is the most affordable electric car from Tata Motors and it recently received an overhaul. The updated Tiago EV gains new exterior and interior updates while the range also increases a bit.

What Has Changed In The Exteriors?

The updated Tiago EV is easier to spot with the new bumper design similar to other Tata EVs while there are LEDs now while fog lamps have been removed. There are also new 14-inch aero wheels and slight tweaks to the rear bumper while a new yellow colour is added too but this colour suits it better I think. Plus look closer and you will see the .ev badging on the side and the new Tata logo.

Are The Interiors Better Now?

Yes, the top-end variant as seen here has the larger 10.25-inch screen which is slick and is great to use while a new HD rear camera is also a nice addition. Of course, you will notice the new steering wheel with digital logo similar to other EVs plus the upholstery is new too.

It looks and feels a lot more premium. The features list is pretty solid with climate control, rear camera, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital driver display, tyre pressure monitoring system and more. However, for the price, features like cooled seats, powered mirrors and 6 airbags are missing.

How Good Is The Range?

The LR variant that we have here is the one to get with a 24kwh battery pack with a claimed range of 293km while real world range has increased to about 200km. In real world driving conditions, you can expect this much range and it is a bit better from the earlier Tiago EV. The power is the same with 75hp, 114Nm but out on the road, even in standard mode, it is linear but quick enough for traffic and pretty smooth. It is ideal for first time EV buyers while sport modes add more performance which is needed for quick overtakes.

Yes, it is not as fast as the Punch EV but as a compact city car, it has more than enough power. Importantly, the ride is very comfortable and the laggy gear selector of the previous Tiago EV has been replaced and now it is much more responsive. There are three regen levels but even the highest regen isn't very strong although tuned for first time EV buyers to get used to quickly.

Is It Worth A Buy?

Prices start at under Rs 8 lakh but that's for the MR variant as the LR at Rs 10.14 lakh is the one to get while top-end Rs 11.14 lakh version as tested here is the best buy for the new features. Compared to the previous Tiago EV, the interior is improved, range is a bit better and the laggy gear selector is gone. As a compact but four door EV hatch this is still the best buy even though it misses out on many features from the more expensive Punch EV.
