Suzuki e-Burgman: Styling, Range, Battery System, Pricing — Know Expected India Launch Details

The electric version of its maxi scooter Burgman would be called 'e-Burgman' and more details have been revealed including its expected range.

Suzuki is also jumping on the electric bandwagon with the electric version of its maxi scooter, Burgman. It would be called 'e-Burgman' and more details have been revealed including its expected range. However, in terms of styling, the e-Burgman will remain the same as the petrol and it will continue to sport its maxi-style design theme.

That said, the electric version will weigh more than its petrol counterpart with a weight of 147kg. That is around 36 kg more. The electric scooter will have a power output of 5.36 bhp and 18Nm via it's AC synchronous Electric motor. In terms of the range, it is said to be 40km when ridden at speeds of upto 60km/h. The range figure seems low but the average riding speed in India is lower hence the figure could rise although another reason for the range figure could be the added weight also. This is also not the official range and the India spec version of the e-Burgman is expected to have a higher number.

Also due to the weight of the electric motor and the battery, the e-Burgman might get rear shocks.

One big highlight is the swappable battery system and here the battery can be swapped at any of the battery swapping centres which would be set up.

The e-Burgman would be expected to be slightly more expensive than the standard Burgman but the increasing demand for electric scooters will mean this would be a crucial addition to the range.

Global market introduction hasn't happened for the e-Burgman but an India introduction in the near future cannot be ruled out and maybe we can get the scooter at the end of the year after the global launch.
