Stellantis To Bring Affordable EVs Into India With Leapmotor
Leapmotor International will officially make its debut in India by Q4 2024 and is a joint venture (JV) between Stellantis and Chinese EV maker Leapmotor
Stellantis: The EV segment will soon get a lot more interesting with many dedicated EV players coming into the picture and one of them is Leapmotor which is coming to India. Leapmotor International will officially make its entry in India by Q4 2024 and it is a joint venture (JV) between Stellantis and Chinese EV maker Leapmotor.
This will give access to Stellantis to widen it's product range in India with a slew of new EVs. India is a part of the expansion strategy for Leapmotor to bring it's brand of EVs to other key markets outside China. Other than Europe, Leapmotor will also make its debut in South America, Middle East, and of course India. These models include the T03 and C10 which will launch first with at least one new model to be introduced every year in the next three years.

The T03 is an A-segment electric vehicle with a 265 km WLTP range and will rival the likes of the Tiago EV and to some extent the MG Comet with being competitively priced and a small compact car. Meanwhile the more premium C10 is a bigger family focussed D-segment vehicle with a bigger range at 420 km WLTP range plus having a 5-star E-NCAP. This will rival the likes of the BYD Atto 3 and the MG ZS.
The Indian EV space will get a slew of new offerings with various carmakers developing their own EV-focussed strategy. Leapmotor will aim at the volumes space with its two models while more are in the pipeline. We also expect that current Jeep or Citroen dealerships could be used as Leapmotor outlets too. More details would be known soon.
